Instruction #4: Chat2Desk and XTracker: How to Add Tags and Track Traffic in Telegram

Manage tags in Chat2Desk and XTracker and track traffic in Telegram.

How to Track Messages in Chat2Desk and Collect Web Analytics for Telegram Traffic

In Instruction #1, I explained how to set up XTracker to track subscriber actions in your Telegram channel (where you drive traffic from Facebook ads) and collect statistics. In Instruction #2, I discussed how to collect web analytics on messages directly through Telegram. For those who prefer working with Chat2Desk, in Instruction #3, I explained how to integrate this aggregator into XTracker to analyze message statistics from there.

Continuing the topic of Chat2Desk, for those who know that this message aggregator allows assigning tags to each lead, in this article, I will explain how to set tags in XTracker in a way that makes it clear which project or link the lead came from, as well as what actions they performed.

Guide: How to Add Tags to XTracker from Chat2Desk

Add Tags to XTracker from Chat2Desk

  1. First, you need to assign all the tags in the Chat2Desk aggregator under the "Tags and Requests" subsection of the "Settings" section. For more detailed instructions on how to do this, refer to the official Chat2Desk documentation.

  1. Now we need to specify the tag that will be assigned after a lead sends a message. The tag will indicate which project (advertising campaign) the person who messaged us came from. To do this, go to XTracker, navigate to the "Projects" subsection in the "Dashboard" section, and click the project edit button.

  1. If you have already integrated Chat2Desk with XTracker (if not, refer to Instruction #3), you should see the following window:

In the Chat2Desk.com Tag ID field, select the tag that should be assigned when a lead messages you. I chose Project1.

Click Edit.

We have added tags to XTracker from Chat2Desk for one project, and we can now track messages from leads.

Assign Tags for Each Link

If you have multiple links receiving traffic from different creatives created by different buyers, you can assign a unique tag to each link.

  1. To do this, go to DashboardLinks, select your project, and click Edit on the link you are interested in.

  1. A window with tag options will open, and you can select the desired tag and click Save.

  1. If you need to assign tags that notify about registrations or deposits, you should first specify Affiliates in the XTracker settings. To learn how to set them up, refer to this guide. If they are already specified, go to the Integrations section → Callbacks, and select the required project space.

  1. Now you will see webhooks (represented as links) for each action in the system and for each affiliate. For example: REG — registration; DEP — minimum deposit; DEPBL — baseline deposit.

Select, for example, REG, and click the gear icon to edit.

  1. Then select the required tag that will be assigned when a registration occurs with the advertiser.

Do the same for DEP and DEPBL.

In this way, we have assigned tags to each link.

Conclusion

In this article, we explored how to add tags to XTracker to track messages from Chat2Desk leads while staying connected to their actions.

In the upcoming articles, we will explore how to connect affiliate programs to the tracker and how to account for budget spending within the tracker.

You will learn what comprehensive reports in XTracker include, and I will provide a detailed explanation of a specific type of report that allows you to monitor the effectiveness of advertising campaigns in real-time.

I will also introduce you to the Just-In metric, which will be incredibly useful.

Additionally, we will cover the integration of third-party solutions and scripts into the tracker, such as notifications for deposits or registrations in the Telegram channel.
